  • Tentatively, operating hours will begin at 6 a.m. and the last train of the day will be at 12 a.m. (midnight).

  • The Communications and Stakeholder Relations team will manage communications with the public regarding the project.
  • Road closures are necessary for public safety and are preceded by a Traffic Impact Assessment by a traffic consultant.
  • Identification and approval of detour or alternative routes by relevant authorities.
  • Deployment of a dedicated, trained traffic management team overseen by a competent traffic management officer.
  • Advance announcements of road closures.

Control measures include:

  • Ensuring drainage systems are free from obstruction by construction materials and waste.
  • Implementation of mitigation measures as per the approved EMP and Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP).

  • Regular water spraying using a water bowser along roads beside the construction sites.
  • Paving or laying crusher run for access roads.
  • Regular cleaning and sweeping of the sites.
  • Wheel washing facilities provided for construction vehicles before they leave the sites.
  • Implementation of mitigation measures as per the approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
