Designing for the Future

The construction methods selected for the Circle Line (MRT3) Project have been carefully designed with several key considerations in mind: cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. These methods aim to minimize disruptions to road traffic and ensure public safety throughout the construction process.

Key Construction Activities

The main construction activities for the Circle Line (MRT3) Project include:

• Utilities Relocation
• Viaduct and Tunnel Construction
• Elevated and Underground Station Construction
• Depot Construction
• System Installation
• Operation and Testing

Viaducts and Tunnels

Viaducts will primarily be situated either along road sides or medians, while tunnelling for the underground sections will be conducted using advanced tunnel boring machines. Station boxes will be constructed using the cut-and-cover method, ensuring precision and safety in underground construction.
